Dealing With Heartbreak
The question is this: How can you find yourself when you’re depressed and sad and tired of everything around you due to the fact that someone you really love broke your heart?
First, we know how hard it is to lose a love and all your great expectations but it is important that we make it clear that you shouldn’t be looking to find yourself. That won’t help, not in the long run. You have to focus on Jesus. See what the bible says;
If your first concern is to look after yourself, you will never find yourself. But if you forget about yourself and look to me, you will find both yourself and me.
Matthew 10:39 (MSG)
Now to the main issue which is dealing with feelings of sadness and hopelessness and loss that result from a broken relationship. The symptoms stated in the question are those of obvious depression. What we are about to tell you might get a lot of shade but its true. How to feel better is to not focus on the situation but on what God says about you and times like this. If you keep your mind on that, if you saturate your mind with the promises of God, it might seem unlikely now but you know what? you can be totally happy, joyful, vibrant, hopeful even in the midst of that hurt. The bible tells us to rejoice always. God wouldn’t ask us to do something He hasn’t given us the ability to accomplished. It only requires your acknowledgement and intentionality. You have to fight to believe. You have to fight the good fight of faith. Because you know this is your right, you have already won. Speak out. Speak loud. We’re going to line up a few bible verses you can write out, memorize and speak out. You can start from there but definitely don’t stop there, grab your bible, gather more promises. Bury yourself in the word of God and soon you’ll see it all come alive, like dry bones made living being. God’s got you, you got this.
